Vacation Travel !!! My hairy friend came a long distance to pose with me. I did travel some to meet with him and Don did get our picture. Star Wars is here !!! In Texas, we grow them taller but not all of my friends are this much taller than my 6'2'. A winter vacation at the San Diego Marriott Suites brought in the New Year 1998. A side trip to LA for two days did allow us to visit family and friends. We enjoyed seeing the Christmas lights at DelMar Race Track and the parade for the Holiday Bowl game. Old Town San Diego has some great Mexican food. In February 1998, Don and I went to Mardi Gras in New Orleans. From Feb 20 - 24, we did 14 parades and enjoyed getting all the beads as well as a rubber snake, wooden spears, a face mask, doubloons and medalions that go with it. We were able to just step out our door of the New Orleans Marriott on Mardi Gras day. The crowd in the French Quarter seemed to behave reasonably well. Several hundred were arrested for exposed body parts and being drunk but that goes with Fat Tuesday. Hawaii vacation was April 28 - May 14, 1998 and April 30 - May 16, 1999. We visited the island of Oahu where we stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, Kauai at the Plantation Hale and the Big Island of Hawaii where we stayed at the Hilton Waikoloa Village in 1998. In 1999, we visited Maui and Kauai with just one day on Oahu. Kauai is our favorite island and this was our 11th trip. We sailed out of Vancouver, BC on September 25, 1998 on the M/V Galaxy (Li) to visit Alaska before our cruise ended in San Francisco on October 2. We had the weekend where we were booked at the Renaissance Parc 55 for Friday and Saturday nights. The Moon Festival was in Chinatown. On Sept 3, 1999, we went by air and spent 3 days in Vancouver, BC and 3 days in Victoria with one night in Sequim, WA and two nights in Seattle. |
